Writing prompt: Highlight of the day — so far

Another short prompt for a busy day.

Prompt: Think about your day so far (even if it's still morning). What's the highlight at this point?




My response:

My daughter woke up upset this morning. She said she'd been dreaming she had become stuck in mud while at a pond with her Girl Scout troop.

"Well, if that ever happens, your daddy and I would be right there to help you," I said.

She said she knows, and she seemed to feel better.

I love that what I said offered her a little relief. I know she would've felt better anyway once time put a little distance between her and the dream. But I still felt like I helped her to have a better day than she would've otherwise.
